A local family is in desperate need of reliable transportation. They fear the vehicle they rely upon for medical emergencies will leave them stranded at any moment.

In the midst of facing a series of financial and health challenges, Thomas and Rachel Yorch are hoping their call to the TV5 Rescue Squad will bring an angel to the rescue.

The couple can start their car, but that doesn't mean it will get them very far. They said they're struggling financially and can't afford to fix it.

"We had a yard sale. We sold what we could to try to get money up to get what we need if we could, to see what we would do about the car," Rachel Yorch said.

Holding back tears, she said her husband suffers from diabetes and had to get his leg amputated, which makes him unable to drive. His health keeps declining and he is going blind. To add to the issues, Rachel Yorch is recovering from a knee replacement and other serious health issues.

"I'm very frustrated because I have to make sure the car is working if he has to go immediately to another hospital," Rachel Yorch said.

Thomas Yorch said anything would help, even if it's just to tell them what's wrong with the car.

"If anyone could come out and help us with the vehicle in any shape or form. It's a gift because you don't take life for granted," Thomas Yorch said.

The couple's car is a 2001 Grand Am that has to get them to and from doctor's appointments. The couple is concerned the vehicle may leave them stranded on the side of the road.

"Just a step in the right direction, ease, no more anxiety about getting in the car and going to the doctor. And that's what it is with the car, it's a mode to go to the doctor," Thomas Yorch said.
