GRAND BLANC, MI (WNEM) -

As the days get warmer, another reminder about how quickly a vehicle can become deathly hot.

Grand Blanc City Police say that Officer Rouse rescued a puppy earlier this week from a vehicle that had broken down.

The veterinarian said that if the dog had been left in the car for another 15 minutes it very well could have died.

Officers report that the owner thought she could make it to the store to get some water for the puppy before it got too hot in the car.

Thankfully, Officer Rouse was alerted and got the dog in time.
