GENESEE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A man was hit and killed by a train, but police report his body wasn’t discovered until several hours later.

It happened on Saturday, June 25, between Lahring and Hogan Roads in Genesee County’s Argentine Township.

Argentine Township Detective Doug Fulton tells TV5 that a 41-year-old man was hit by a Canadian National train at 3:40 a.m.

But it was the crew for the 6 p.m. train that discovered his body on the tracks.

The man’s name has not been released.

Fulton tells TV5 that alcohol is possibly a factor, but an autopsy has been ordered.
