SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

If you don't like the current gas prices then you'll like expert predictions that they will soon be changing.

Prices at the pump are about to drop.

"For the time being, at least for the next few days, I think we'll continue to see gas prices across the state declining," said Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst for Gasbuddy.com.

DeHaan said gas prices across the state are beginning to fall because area refineries have completed maintenance work.

"Marathon's refinery in Detroit has been fairly unreliable this spring. They've had some issues. Other refineries in northwest Ohio that also serve the region have been down for maintenance," DeHaan said.

DeHaan said the financial fallout from Britain's exit from the European Union is causing American gas prices to trend lower.

"Since that vote Thursday, oil prices have fallen $50 a barrel all the way down to, well as early as today $45.98 a barrel. So they've fallen quite a bit in just two days," DeHaan said.
