FLINT TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

A police officer is being recognized after safely guiding seven ducks out of traffic.

Officer Wascher with the Flint Township Police Department guided a mother duck and her six newly hatched babies across five lanes of heavy traffic on Tuesday.

The ducks were caught in traffic on Miller Road near the Genesee Valley Mall.

The ducks made it back to their nest on the other side of the street with Wascher's help, police said.
