SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

If you live in Saginaw County and are looking for a fun way to spend the 4th of July, think about visiting the Children’s Zoo in Saginaw for free!

On Monday, July 4th, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saginaw County residents can enjoy free admission into the zoo.  Proof of county residence is needed, such as a driver’s license or a copy of your utility bill.

Families can spend time with their animal friends, and see the zoo dressed up in red, white and blue decorations.

The Train Whistle Café will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., serving popcorn, hotdogs, and ice cream.

Zoo officials say this is their way of saying ‘thank you’  to Saginaw County for voting to pass a millage supporting the zoo in 2014, which allows it to continue to flourish.
