PICKFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -

Crews in Michigan's Upper Peninsula have responded to at least three wildfires this week and they're warning people to be careful with campfires and fireworks amid dry weather during the Independence Day weekend.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources says a dozen of its firefighters are working Friday to deal with what's left of an 82-acre fire that was detected Wednesday in Chippewa County. Firefighters from the DNR built a containment line around the Munuscong Fire that day.

No injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation.

The U.S. Forest Service battled a fire detected Wednesday in the Hiawatha National Forest in Chippewa County that was about 35 acres. And small fire sparked by a lightning strike Wednesday charred about three-quarters of an acre in Mackinac County.
