SAGINAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries after a crash in Saginaw County.

Officials with the Saginaw County Sheriff's Department said the rider was traveling at a high rate of speed as he drove south on Bay Road in Kochville Township.

They said the motorcycle began weaving in and out of traffic, navigating around vehicles going about 90 miles per hour.

When the motorcycle came to slower traffic the driver attempted to pass in the opposite lane, but there were cars coming towards him.

Officials said he put his motorcycle down, sliding into a vehicle in the southbound turning lane.

The rider was taken to a local hospital suffering from a collapsed lung and multiple abrasions.

He was wearing a helmet.
