A bicyclist was hurt Sunday when he was hit by a truck in Sanilac County.

It happened around 10 a.m. near the intersection of Cedar and Lake Streets in the Village of Port Sanilac.

Investigators said a 2015 Dodge Ram driven by 41-year-old Chad Hooper of Port Sanilac was headed westbound on Cedar Street when he approached the corner of Lake Street.

Hooper had the right away, according to police, and continued through the intersection when a bicyclist ridden by 59-year-old Bill Blazinski of Clinton Township failed to yield at the stop sign.

The truck struck the bike.

Blazinski was taken to McKenzie Hospital by a family member for treatment of possible injuries.

Police said alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
