SAGINAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A lot of people said they would give back if they won the lottery, making local charities big winners as well.

TV5 spoke to local organizations to find out how much of an impact a big donation could have.

"If they won a lot of money, even if they want to give a little bit, we can make it go a long way in Saginaw County," said Kelly Breasbois, with United Way.

The organization partners with more than a dozen different charities that help those in need in the community.

"If you can part with anything from that big lump sum, definitely donate it to Saginaw County. You can make real change happen," she said.

Even if you don't beat the one in 259 million odds of taking home the Mega Millions jackpot, there are always ways to help.

"There's always different opportunities to give whether you want to just cut a check, if you want to give your time, if you want to give your talents. We need voices in the community, you name it there's a charity out there for anyone's skill set," Breasbois said.
