HAYES TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

Officials say $9.2 million in federal funding is offering a boost to three Michigan townships.

Events are planned Friday to celebrate projects in Clare County's Hayes Township, Saginaw County's Albee Township and Tuscola County's Denmark Township.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture says Hayes Township is hosting a ribbon-cutting and open house celebrating a new township hall and community kitchen. Meanwhile, Albee and Denmark townships are hosting separate events related to water distribution system projects.

James Turner, the USDA's Michigan director for rural development, is among those scheduled to attend. USDA Rural Development provided the funding for the communities.
