MIDLAND, MI (AP) -

A Michigan lawmaker wants protesters fined for the kind of demonstrations recently seen on a top state official's front lawn.

A new bill introduced by Midland Representative Gary Glenn would impose fines on people who picket on private residential property.

It’s similar to current law that fines protesters who disrupt businesses.

Glenn said the bill is partly a response to the protest at Attorney General Bill Schuette's home earlier this week.
