BRANCH COUNTY, Mich. (WNEM) -

A sinking boat was pulled from Marble Lake.

Deputies with the Branch County Sheriff’s Department were called around 2 p.m. to the area for reports of a sinking boat near the Wildwood access on Sunday, July 10.

Police said the vessel had participated in the Hot Boat Expo on that Saturday near Corn Island. The boat had a small leak and was taking on water. Choppy waves and the design of the jet boat caused it to swamp while crews tried to remove it from the lake.

A semi wrecker was able to tow the boat out of the water and place it on the trailer.

No injuries were reported.
