A man was hurt when he crashed into a fire department rescue vehicle in Sanilac County.

It happened around 10:40 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12 in the area of Black River Road, south of Sheridan Line.

Investigators said several firetrucks from the Croswell Fire Department were blocking the roadway when 31-year-old Codey Bower of Croswell ran into a rescue truck while heading north on Black River Road.

The firetrucks and rescue truck all had their emergency lights on, officials said.

The Chevy Cobalt hit the truck and then went into the ditch on the east side of the road.

Firemen at the scene helped the injured man until an ambulance arrived. Bower was taken to Port Huron McLaren Hospital for treatment.

His injuries are unknown.
