Civil rights panel holds second hearing over Flint water crisis

Posted: Updated:
FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

The Michigan Civil Rights Commission will be holding a second public hearing Thursday on the Flint water crisis.

The commission is looking into whether racial bias played a role in the state's decision to switch the water supply that ended up causing the water crisis.

The first public hearing was held in April when the eight-member state body listened to testimony from Flint residents.

At their meeting in May, commissioners voted to focus the second public hearing on the impact of the water crisis on the city’s housing situation.
