Michigan musicians work saved for history

Posted: Updated:
LANSING, MI (AP) -

A Michigan musician is traveling the state recording the sounds of his fellow artists.

Matt Jones of Ypsilanti has recorded hundreds of other musicians since embarking on his River Street Anthology Project last year.

Jones uses a basic technique. The artists get to record one song in one try,  using a single microphone.

The Archives of Michigan is saving the tracks to it's digital library.
