FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, the pediatric physician who helped uncover the Flint water crisis, topped Crain's Health Care Heroes 2016 list.

"Tragedies bring people together and that certainly is what happened here. What I've always known is the people of Flint are strong. We have a power of the community to lift our children up. We have that opportunity," Hanna-Attisha is quoted in Crain's.

Hanna-Attisha tested the children in Flint for lead to discover the crisis. She helped limit the damage to Flint's children from the lead poisoning, Crain's said.

The other honorees include doctors, health care executives, nurses, a lawyer and a banker.

The group of 10 will be honored at Crain's annual Health Care Leadership Summit on Nov. 17.
