CLARE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Two kayaks fell off the roof of a vehicle, causing a multi-vehicle accident.

It happened on Sunday, July 17 at around 5:13 p.m. on SB US-127 between Mannsiding Road and Hatton Road in Clare County.

Deputies say that a Jackson man driving a Ford SUV lost the two kayaks while driving south. When they fell, a 33-year-old Saranac man driving a Chevrolet Tahoe swerved to avoid hitting them and hit an Equinox driven by a 52-year-old man from Jackson.

The Equinox was pushed off the highway and rolled multiple times.

Drivers of both the Tahoe and Equinox were treated for minor injuries.
