SANILAC COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Two people were killed Monday morning in a Sanilac County crash.

It happened around 9:10 a.m. on M-19 at the intersection of Marlette Road in Elk Township.

Investigators said a 2001 Saturn driven by 78-year-old Holly Jennings Wolfe of Burtchville was heading east on Marlette Road when he failed to yield at a stop sign and crashed into a 2015 Chevy Equinox driven by 68-year-old Susan Samson of Sandusky.

Wolfe was pronounced dead at McKenzie Hospital.

A passenger in the Equinox, 89-year-old Arlette Mae Klohn of Sandusky, was airlifted to the hospital where she later died.

Both Wolfe and Samson were wearing seat belts but Klohn was not, according to officials.

Two employees from Blue Flame Propane of Lexington assisted rescuers at the scene, police said.
