EAST LANSING, MI (WNEM) -

Draymond Green has accepted a plea deal in connection with a July 10 incident.

The Saginaw native and NBA player was arrested on assault charges in East Lansing after a former MSU cornerback, Jermaine Edmondson, claimed Green hit him.

On July 22 Green’s attorney submitted a signed document accepting the deal which would reduce charges to a civil infraction.

That results in Green having to pay a $560 fine for a noise violation, and avoid further criminal offenses and contact with the victim for one year.

Green's attorney, James Heos, said Friday it's akin to a parking ticket and Green got no special treatment in the deal.

Green is scheduled to play for the U.S. basketball team in the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in August.

He played for MSU from 2008 to 2012.
