BAY CITY, MI (WNEM) -

A massive fire lit up the night sky over Bay City Saturday night.

The former Van Popplen Block Company facility was engulfed in flames and reported around 10PM.

The building has reportedly sat vacant for years and was last used for storage for concrete supplies.

Firefighters from several departments were called in to battle the blaze at 1301 North Sherman Street.

It took firefighters several hours to knock down the fire that destroyed the building.

No word on what caused the fire of if anyone was injured.
