FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

City of Flint water customers with credits issued to their closed utility accounts can now request a refund.

Flint Mayor Karen Weaver announced the move today. It’s the second phase of the $30 million credit relief program using funds provided by the state.

The credit program’s goal is to provide financial relief to Flint residents dealing with the water crisis.

A total of $1,286,139 in credits will be applied.

Customers whose utility account became inactive after April 2014 can now complete a process to get a refund for a portion of their relief.

Residents must complete the form found here. The forms can also be found at City Hall and the Flint Public Library.

For those interested in reviewing their account details, information on water/sewer accounts is available online at www.cityofflint.com\propertyservices.  Questions can also be directed to representatives at the Customer Service Center by calling (810) 766-7015.
