SANILAC COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Two men were rushed to a local hospital after a head on crash in Sanilac County Tuesday.

Officials with the Sanilac County Sheriff's department said the accident happened about 2:30 p.m.

They said a 19-year old Brown City man was heading west on M-46 when he approached a vehicle preparing to turn onto Juhl road. The Brown City man swerved to avoid hitting the vehicle and was struck by a Chevrolet Silverado traveling east on M-46.

The 56-year old driver of the Silverado was pinned inside his vehicle. The Sandusky Fire Department used the "Jaws of Life" to free him.

Both drivers were taken to McKenzie hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries are not clear at this time.
