Police ID motorcyclist killed in I-69 crash

GENESEE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Police are identifying a man killed Monday when his motorcycle crashed with a semi, shutting down part of I-69 in Genesee County.

Witnesses told investigators a motorcycle was driving westbound on I-69 at a high rate of speed before hitting a semi near the entrance ramp at Hammerburg Road.

Witnesses told police the motorcycle was weaving in and out of lanes before the crash.  

The driver, 50-year-old Jeffrey Lee Dean, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said Dean had no identification on him and was taken to Hurley Medical Center.

The westbound lanes of I-69 were shut down for several hours while officials investigated the crash.
