FLUSHING, MI (WNEM) -

Local police are warning residents to be on alert after several suspicious incidents were reported.

Flushing Police said a person will approach a resident without any appointment and present personal information about that resident.

Once they attempted to sell health insurance, while another time they wanted to discuss Social Security benefits. They also try to get into the resident’s home.

In one incident the suspect is described as being about 35 to 40 years of age, dark hair, slim to medium build with some facial hair and wearing a light blue long sleeve shirt and dark pants.  The subject was driving a small SUV type of vehicle.

In another incident the subject is described as having a full beard and was driving an SUV with a light bar on the top.

In three separate incidents people have called police about a suspicious person at their door. That person knew their names and other personal information.

"That's very scary, very dangerous. You don't know what they could do, what they will do. It'll probably be on the negative side," said Terry Lantz, Flushing resident.

The potential victims are older adults, but none of them let the suspect inside their home.

Police said the intent is unclear, but they hope to make contact with the suspects before someone gets defrauded or hurt.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Flushing Police Department at 810-659-3119.
