FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

Once again General Motors in Flint is standing in first place according to J.D. Power.

The Vehicle City's life-line to GM had the most models ranked highest in segment in this year's Dependability Study, Initial Quality Study and Appeal Study awards.

The 2016 Silverado Heavy Duty, which is made at the Flint assembly plant, took the top honors in reliability in both initial and long-term quality.

“GM has designed a fantastic truck and we’ve built it the best anyone can build it,” said plant manager Jeff LaMarche.

This kind of news is great for staff morale.

“It's great for the morale because it continues to recognize what our folks do every day and they work so hard to build a great truck for our customers,” said Manager Jeff Lamarche. “And we may think that we are really good inside the house but it's great when our customers and folks outside the house give us this kind of recognition.”

The GM Flint Assembly plant builds the Chevrolet Silverado AHD and LD as well as the GMC Sierra Heavy Duty.

“Things were tough several years back. Since then we have come back quite a bit and to continue to dominate a very important segment in the industry. It gives us a ton of pride.”
