LAPEER COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A motorcycle rear-ended an SUV, sending two people to the hospital.

It happened on August 1 at 6:19 p.m. on Imlay City Road east of Lake George Road in Lapeer County’s Attica Township.

Deputies say that Cheryl Hazel, 53, from Yale, was heading east and following vehicles that were slowing down due to a vehicle turning left into a driveway.

That’s when investigators say James Church, 52, and his wife, Angela Church, 55, both from Imlay City and on a Harley Davidson hit the back of Hazel’s vehicle.

At last check Angela was at the University Of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, her condition is unknown.

James is at McLaren-Lapeer Region in serious condition.

Both were wearing helmets.

Hazel was not hurt.

Neither alcohol nor speed are considered factors in the crash.

It is still under investigation.
