A man suspected of robbing a bank and violating parole has been fatally shot at a Detroit motel.
Farmington Hills Police Chief Chuck Nebus says the 54-year-old man lunged at officers with a large knife before he was shot Wednesday at Victory Inn and Suites. Officers from different departments had tried to arrest him.
He was identified as Bradley Carey, who was released from prison in July after serving a sentence for bank robbery.
Nebus says Carey was considered a parole violator. He also was a suspect in a suburban bank robbery Tuesday, although officers didn't have an arrest warrant in that case.
