In life, trying times can knock you off track.

Carrie Drew said she was officially derailed and any luck dried up.

"It's stressful and I feel like I'm not providing for the people I need to provide for," Drew said.

She said her mother had a stroke last year and is bedridden. Her father has heart problems, along with an assortment of other health issues. Drew is taking care of both of them on top of working a full time job and raising an 11-year-old daughter.

Everything got tougher when she lost her most valuable resource.

"I lost water. My pump was failing. We went off and replaced the pump, put a new pump, new water tank in. All brand new lines from floor up into the house and it would not prime," Drew said.

Each day the family loads up their trailer with empty buckets and drive a quarter mile down the road where they dill them with a water spigot from another family member.

They said they use the water to flush the toilets and to do other necessities.

The problem is so bad Drew sent her daughter off to live with her father. Drew said it will cost $7,000 to drill a new well, which is money she doesn't have.

Drew turned to the Rescue Squad in hopes someone could help get her a new well.

"I have nothing. There's nothing I can do," she said.

Now Drew will soon have water again, thanks to some TV5 viewers.

"Ed Birkmeier Well Drilling got hold of me on the GoFundMe page the very next morning and I called them, talked to Patti the secretary there, and she let me know that the owners wanted to help out," Drew said.

Birkmeier and his team stepped in to replace Drew's well free of charge.

"Just wanna help these people get some water. It's hard to live without water, let me tell you," he said.

Drew said she is extremely grateful.

"It was weight off my shoulders and stress and just as soon as water gets hooked up, it's going to be so much better," Drew said.

Drew said she can't thank the TV5 viewers enough who reached out to help. She said the generosity won't end with her.

"Rescue Squad came up and they did an interview and because of them I was able to get a well put in. I'm gonna pay this forward. Obviously, I'm gonna pay this forward. There's no way I can't pay this forward. It is something that means the world to me," Drew said.
