There's a new way to stay cool in Mid-Michigan and it has people coming from all over.

People are jumping in to a new kind of water park called Jump Island. It's located McGinnis Road in Holly.

John Harris founded the new way to cool down.

It's gonna be hot…90 degrees what better way to be outside and slide down a giant slide. Jump off Ice Mountain, drink some cold pops with your friends and play in the water,” Harris said.

Ice Mountain and the Giant Slide are all located at the inflatable water park in the Holly Recreation Area.

Louise Blain came to see Jump Island for the first time and beat the heat.

“Jump on those things! Grandma is jumping today!” Blain said.

Blain brought her grandson Ethan and he said he already has some favorite attractions.
“The rock climbing wall and stuff like that, just have fun!” Ethan said.

Harris said the inflatable water park is the only one like it in the state.

The popularity of it continues to grow but safety is a number one priority and the amount of people allowed on jump island at one time is limited.

Harris said there is always at least four lifeguards on duty and you can get reservations online.

Julinna D'Agostino and her soccer friends came to chill out here and play volley ball on the inflatable court.

“I've never seen anything like this! I've been to pump it up but that's not on water. This is next step up,” she said.

On hot days, Harris said he encourages everyone to come to Jump Island to run, jump and slide through the beaches lakes and rivers.

“Something fun to do, get them out the house, get them off their phones and get them something to do that is physical,” he said.

Prices for Jump Island start at $12 dollars.
