Two airlifted when Porsche, SUV crash

TUSCOLA COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Two people were airlifted over the weekend from a crash in Tuscola County.

It happened on Saturday, August 6 just before 3 p.m. on the corner of M-81 and Vassar Road.

Investigators said a 2000 Porsche Boxster was heading southbound on Vassar Road when it stopped at the stop sign but then pulled out into the path of a 2015 Chevy Equinox heading east on M-81.

The 62-year-old female passenger in the Boxster had to be cut from the vehicle by the Jaws of Life. Both the driver, a 67-year-old man from Fenton, and the passenger were airlifted to St. Mary’s Hospital.

The driver of the Equinox, a 61-year-old woman from Caro and her two passengers, a 69-year-old man from Caro and a 34-year-old man, only had minor injuries and were taken to Covenant HealthCare by ambulance.

The crash is still under investigation.
