A driver is in critical condition after a crash in the city of Flint.

It happened just before noon on Monday, August 8 near the intersection of N. Dort Highway and E. Pierson Road.

Investigators said a brown 1973 Oldsmobile 422 driven by a 63-year-old male from Flint was headed southbound on N. Dort Highway, approaching E. Pierson Road, when a black 2001 Oldsmobile Bravada made a left turn and failed to yield to oncoming traffic.

Both drivers were injured in the crash.

The driver of the Bravada, a 50-year-old female from Flint, was taken Hurley Medical Center and listed in good condition.

The driver of the Oldsmobile 422 was initially listed in serious condition and later upgraded to critical.

Police said there is no sign of drugs or alcohol being a factor in the crash. It’s unclear if speed was a factor.

The investigation is ongoing. Police have not released the names of the drivers at this time.

Anyone who saw the crash is asked to call Sgt. Jason Groulx at 810-237-6811 or Crime Stoppers at 800-422-JAIL.
