MIDLAND COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A man was killed in Midland County when his motorcycle crashed with a car outside a grocery store.

It happened just after 4 p.m. Monday on West River Road in front of the Pineview Grocery store in Jerome Township.

Witnesses told police 67-year-old Ted Jennings was headed southbound on West River Road on his 2007 Honda VTX 1300 when a Pontiac Grand Prix tried to make a left turn into the grocery store.

The driver of the car, 29-year-old Ryan Luna of Coleman, said he never saw the motorcycle.

Jennings' motorcycle hit the car in the passenger door area.

A nurse who saw the crash rushed over and provided immediate care to the man, who police said was wearing a helmet.

He was taken to Mid-Michigan Health in Midland where he was pronounced dead shortly later.

The crash is still under investigation.
