BAY CITY, MI (WNEM) -

Former Buena Vista Township detective, and interim police chief, Kevin Kratz is facing charges of drunk driving and driving without insurance in Bay County.

The 47 year old Bay County resident was involved in a single car traffic crash on Finn Road in Hampton Township back on July 23rd.

Kratz's blood alcohol level registered .143. The legal limit in Michigan is .08. 

He is scheduled to be back in Bay County District Court on September 12th.

Kratz left the Buena Vista Police Department in 2014.
