Saginaw NAACP getting ready for annual awards dinner

SAGINAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

The Saginaw branch of the NAACP is getting ready for its annual Freedom Fund Gala and you are invited.

The big event will take place at 6pm on September 25th at the Horizons Conference Center in Saginaw Township. A reception is scheduled for 5pm and the awards dinner begins at 6pm.

TV5 is a proud sponsor.  Our own Frank Turner will serve as co-host and emcee for the event.

The honorees include Mrs. Mary Jane Claybrook-Currie, a Saginaw school teacher instrumental in organizing the Phi Delta Kappa Kudos Youth Group; The Honorable M.T. Thompson who served as a local District Judge for 20 years; The Arson Watch Team of Saginaw, a group that was organized nearly ten years ago to battle arson on Halloween.

Leola Wilson is President of the Saginaw NAACP while Odail Thorns is Chairman of the Freedom Fund banquet.
