WATERLOO TOWNSHIP, MI (AP) -

A 24-year-old former Michigan resident has been arraigned in connection with the finding of an infant's body in a shallow grave behind a Waterloo Township home.

The Jackson Citizen Patriot reports that Timothy Young appeared Wednesday in Jackson County District Court.

Authorities say Young and 22-year-old Brittani Hill were the infant's parents. They are charged with concealing a death and removing a body without approval by a medical examiner.

The body was found July 23. They were arrested last month in Ohio.

Authorities have said the child may have been buried six to seven months ago and is believed to have been 6 months to a year old at the time of death.

Young's preliminary examination is Aug. 25. Hill's preliminary examination is Aug. 30.
