Ramp closure starting Sunday for temporary bridge support

Posted: Updated:
GENESEE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

If you drive through a major Genesee County intersection, the Michigan Department of Transportation wants you to be aware of a major construction project beginning Aug. 14.

MDOT crews will install temporary supports under three bridges at the I-75/I-69 interchange in Flint. The work will require closing the eastbound I-69 ramp to northbound I-75 (Exit 133).

Eastbound I-69 traffic will be detoured via Hammerberg Road (Exit 135), then directed to take westbound I-69 back to northbound I-75. This closure and detour will remain in effect each day between 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. until all supports have been installed.

The work is expected to wrap up on Aug. 18.

Stay with WNEM TV5 for traffic conditions in the area as the work takes place.
