LENOX TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -

Authorities say a 36-year-old Detroit-area man arrested in connection with his girlfriend's fatal shooting had planned the deaths of at least two other people.

Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham also tells reporters Wednesday that the suspect intended to lose his life, possibly in a shootout with police.

The body of 38-year-old Lisa Ann Fabbri was found Tuesday in her car in Lenox Township, northeast of Detroit.

The suspect later showed up with an assault rifle at a Lapeer auto shop, seeking two employees who were away at the time.

He left the shop and shot at an unmarked police vehicle that was following him. He also shot at a pedestrian. No one was struck.

The suspect crashed his pickup truck and was arrested. Police are preparing charges.
