FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

Businesses in Flint are no longer able to collect bottled water from distribution centers.

Bridget Spencer, with the Emergency Management Homeland division for the state, said businesses never should have received donated water.

"These are specifically set up for residents," she said.

Spencer oversees the water distribution centers scattered throughout Flint. She wants people to know the water is only meant for residents.

"Contact the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce or the U.S. Small Businesses Association and they can assist you in whatever means you can to get water specifically for your business," Spencer said.

As for businesses hoping their well for water doesn't run dry, Spencer believes they'll get the help they need if they reach out to the right agencies.

"We've not had many businesses that have come back and stated that they couldn't get a need," Spencer said.
