PORT HURON, MI (WNEM) -

The Amber Alert for 5-year-old Douglas Ball Jr. has been canceled after police found him safe around 8:30 Sunday morning.

According to the Detroit Free Press, police found Ball and his father Douglas Ball Sr. in Oakland County.

Ball is a suspect in the murder of the boy's mother. Port Huron police expect him to be arraigned later this week.

An Amber Alert has been issued for a 5-year-old boy from Port Huron.

Douglas Ball was last seen on August 20 in Port Huron.

He has blonde hair and blue eyes. The boy is 4’5” tall and weighs 100 pounds.

A person of interest in a homicide in the City of Port Huron may be in the company of the child, who is his biological child.

Douglas Ball, 39, also has blonde hair and blue eyes. He is 6’4” tall and weighs 240 pounds.

They may be traveling in a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu that is maroon or brown in color.

The Michigan license plate is: DFC9403.
