Deputies rescued four people after their boat sunk in Lake Huron.

It happened on August 20 at around 8:05 p.m. about 1.5 miles northeast of Port Sanilac.

Deputies report that people onboard the 17-foot Chrysler Power boat called central dispatch saying that it was taking on water.

All four people, including a 65-year-old man from Marlette, his wife, their 39-year-old daughter and her 10-year-old son from Snover, were told to put on life jacks.

They called back a short time later saying the boat was about to sink.

Deputies battled strong waves and winds and found them clinging to the overturned vessel in about 25 feet of water.

All four were treated and released at the scene.
