Parking problems solved at apartment complex

SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

Parking problems at one Mid-Michigan apartment complex should be solved.

Residents at the New Amadore Apartments in Saginaw were confused and upset about getting parking tickets after leaving their vehicles on the street overnight.

Robert Rivard, consultant for the complex, said the city addressed the issue and agreed to let tenants park along the street without getting a ticket.

"The city made an error. They realized their mistake and they corrected it and the tenants have been able to park on the street no problem ever since," he said.

While some tenants have previously used part of a lot owned by the Saginaw diocese, they no longer can due to renovations. However, Rivard said that shouldn't be a problem.

"There was an agreement with the owner and the diocese to allow our tenants to park there, but we have plenty of parking so we're fine with that and excited for the renovations of the area," Rivard said.

He also said other options for parking include a lot kitty corner to the apartment building and a parking garage.

"If they have a problem, they can call me and I'll get the a spot for sure," Rivard said.
