FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

Mid-Michigan prepares a hero's welcome for one of its Olympic champions.

Claressa Shields arrives in Flint Tuesday, just two days after making history at the summer games in Rio.

On Sunday, Shields became the first American to win back to back gold medals for boxing.

Her victory helped secure team USA’s lead of several dozen medals over Great Britain and China.

Shields is expected to arrive at Flint Bishop International Airport around 5:15 this evening.

She'll enter the terminal at the far west end of the ticket counter. That's where you can get her autograph and pose for pictures with her before she leaves for a private celebration.

If you can't make it, be sure to watch WNEM TV5 news this evening, we’ll be there for Shields’ arrival.
