TUSCOLA COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A man was arrested after he fled from police and started a chase Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies from the Tuscola County Sheriff's Department attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding about 2:20 p.m. The vehicle fled and a pursuit started, which lasted about 25 minutes, according to Michigan State Police spokesperson Dave Kaiser.

The chase started in Tuscola County and entered Lapeer County, where MSP took over. The suspect, a 26-year-old Flint man, reentered Tuscola County and stopped at an address on Mead Road.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident, Kaiser said.

He did not have a valid driver's license and had six warrants out for his arrest, including assault and battery, probation violation, controlled substance abuse and traffic warrants.

Police also found crack cocaine and marijuana inside the vehicle, Kaiser said.

He is lodged in the Tuscola County Jail.
