SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

A Mid-Michigan mother of six, who is struggling to get by, needs some help from the Rescue Squad.

There's an urgent plumbing problem at her house that needs to be fixed before winter.

"It's been a couple of months. It started out, I thought the pipes were clogged," Chasidy Stevens said.

A pipe under Stevens' cement driveway appears to be broken, causing a backup into the house. As a result, it's created chaos in her home, which she shares with her six kids ranging from 18 to 6-years-old.

"I went under the toilet at first when it was overflowing and I was trying to shut off the water. It didn't work, so I went down to the basement, tried to shut off the main valve. That still didn't work," Stevens said.

She said she had to use a shop vac and about 50 towels to clean up the mess.

Because of the issue, Stevens can't do laundry at her home.

"I have to take that to a laundry mat because if I run my washing machine it overflows my toilet throughout my whole house," Stevens said.

She works a minimum wage job and can't afford to have someone rip up the concrete and fix the pipe. She would be thankful if someone could take care of the problem for her.

"I'm hoping, like I said I've got six kids. If I could do it myself I would definitely not be asking," she said.
