Good fortune has benefited a Clare County resident not once, but twice playing the same Michigan Lottery Game - Fantasy 5.

Wednesday, her game ticket correctly matched the numbers drawn worth a jackpot of more than $559,000 dollars. The Lottery says she purchased the ticket from a store in Farwell.

State officials say the winner wishes to remain anonymous, but they add she also had a winning Fantasy 5 ticket in 2014 that was worth more than $336,000 at the time. That winning ticket was also purchased in Farwell.

“I was talking to a friend on the phone, when the numbers were displayed on TV. When I realized I had matched all five numbers, I just hung the phone up and began calling for my husband to come to the living room," the woman says in remarks issued by the Lottery in a prepared release.

“He thought something was wrong by the sound of my voice. When he walked into the room, I was standing right in front of the TV looking at my ticket. He knew right away why I had called for him and he said ‘You did not win Fantasy 5 again!’”

After a lot of celebrating and laughter, the winner and her husband tried to get some sleep, but couldn’t.

“For some, reason even though we were celebrating, it still felt like a dream,” said the player. “It wasn’t until I saw where the winning ticket was purchased that it really sank in that I had won the jackpot again.”

The lucky player visited Lottery headquarters today with her husband to claim her prize. With her winnings, she plans to take her husband on a special trip for their 20th anniversary in the spring and then save the remainder.
