BRIGHTON, Mich. (WNEM) -

A Michigan man is going home $2 million richer.

John Swisher brought the Mega Millions ticket and added the Megaplier option at the Grand Party Store on Whitmore Lake Road in Brighton.

His lucky ticket matched the five white balls drawn – 10-11-31-41-44 – which is a $1 million win.

With a two times Megaplier, the prize was multiplied by two, yielding a $2 million prize.

It’s a prize he didn’t immediately know he won.

“I turned on the news early Saturday morning and I caught a glimpse of the numbers on the ticker,” Swisher said.. “They moved so quick, I missed the number ‘31’ so I thought I’d won $10,000 and I was pleased with that. When my wife and I checked the numbers for a second time, I saw I had five and screamed ’Oh my God!’ We both started praying immediately.”

Mega Millions drawings take place each Tuesday and Friday evening.
