Fire rips through vacant home set to be demolished

FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

Authorities are investigating an overnight house fire in the city of Flint.

It happened about 1:47 a.m. in the 400 block of Dartmouth in Genesee County. 

The Flint Fire Battalion Chief told TV5 the house was set to be demolished. When firefighters arrived, flames were already through the roof. Crews had to work on the defense to keep the fire from spreading to nearby homes. 

No firefighters were hurt. 

The fire is considered suspicious and under investigation.
