RICHLAND TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

Police say a Consumers Energy contractor was flown to the hospital after falling off an ATV this morning.

It happened just after 10 a.m. on Lakefield Road in Richland Township. Police say three contractors, hired by Consumers, were spraying for weed control along the road. That's when rough terrain caused one of the men to lose his seating on the ATV, and he fell off, rolling down a steep embankment.

His co-workers called for help, and the man was taken via LifeNet to Covenant in Saginaw.

Officials say the man sustained internal injuries, but his condition is unknown.
