Mid Michigan Community College recognizes professor

A sociology professor at Mid Michigan Community College been recognized as the top community college professor in the state.

The Michigan Community College Association has selected Chuck Bowden for the organization's outstanding faculty member award for 2016.

The annual award recognizes one Michigan community college faculty member for his or her teaching achievements, service, honors, and strong commitment to the purpose and philosophy of the community college mission.

Bowden joined Mid Michigan Community College in 1976. He's credited with helping the grow the college's sociology program to where they now offer more sociology options for students  than any other community college in Michigan.  

The Michigan Community College Association is a collection of all of the public community colleges in the state. According to their website, their mission is to provide leadership on issues affecting the state's community colleges.
